From the Tirana Airport to City Center
Bus

The bus is the cheapest way to get to Tirana’s city center. It costs €4 per person for the 1 hour commute (with traffic, which there usually is).
Exit the airport and walk through the crowds of people waiting at Arrivals, towards the numerous stands of rental car businesses.
All the way at the end, the buses are lined up. You will see the destinations written on signs in the windshield. Confirm with the driver that you’re getting on the right bus to where you want to go before stowing your bags underneath or taking a seat.
You will pay for your ticket (in cash– Lek or Euro) to the driver enroute or upon arrival at your destination. You don’t need to worry about purchasing a ticket ahead of time.
They leave when they are full, or every hour.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available to take you around all cities in Albania including Tirana, Durres, Vlora, Sarande, and more. You can take a taxi from Tirana International Airport to the city center for €25. Taxis generally have meters, but you can also negotiate a price before getting in (recommended).
The main taxi companies are Taxi Lux, Blue Taxi, and Green Taxi – and you would call them like it’s the 90’s.
Rental Car

Dozens of rental car companies operate in Albania (“makine me qera” in Albanian). Upon exiting the Tirana Airport (Arrivals), as you walk outside through the crowds of people, the rental car stands are lined up along the right. It is advised to make reservations in advance, especially during the high season (June – August).
